This weekend, Norvic Guards is proud to be assisting Discreet Security at one of Great Yarmouth’s most popular annual events — the Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival 2025.

The festival brings thousands of visitors to the seafront for a celebration of classic cars, motorbikes, and all things automotive. It’s a major highlight in the town’s calendar, and we’re pleased to be working alongside Discreet Security to help ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.

Supporting a Leading Security Provider

Discreet Security is the lead security provider for this event, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to assist their experienced team. Our role will be to supplement their operations with trained personnel who can provide:

General support across designated festival zones

Crowd monitoring and visible presence

Assistance with footfall control around busy display areas

Back-up for public safety, lost persons, and incident response

We’re proud to support Discreet’s leadership and bring our professionalism and readiness to one of the biggest events on the East Coast.

About the Festival

The Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival is a free, family-friendly event that takes place along Great Yarmouth’s iconic seafront, showcasing:

Classic and custom cars

Motorbikes and trikes

Driving demos and displays

Family attractions, food, and traders

With such large crowds and moving displays, safety and coordination are absolutely key. That’s why events like this rely on strong security operations — and why we’re proud to support Discreet in delivering that.

A record of the 2025 assignment

This article describes Norvic’s support for Discreet Security at the 2025 festival. The original invitation to visitors related to that event. It remains in our archive as an example of working within another provider’s operation, rather than an announcement of a current festival date or a claim that Norvic led the entire security provision.

That distinction matters. A supporting team contributes to a wider plan with its own leadership and responsibilities. Clear attribution gives readers an accurate picture of the relationship and recognises the organisation coordinating the operation. We value opportunities to add dependable personnel while respecting the lead provider’s role and its relationship with the event organiser.

What useful support looks like

For similar assignments, preparation starts with understanding what the lead provider needs. The supporting team should know its designated duties, reporting contacts and the information that must be handed over at the end of a shift. An officer’s general experience is valuable, but it does not replace a briefing specific to the event.

Public events can change quickly as visitors arrive, displays attract interest and the programme progresses. Personnel need a way to communicate observations and receive updated instructions. They should also understand which decisions fall within their role and which need a supervisor. That shared understanding helps separate useful initiative from an uncoordinated change to the plan.

Keeping a public event approachable

A family event is also a visitor experience. People may need directions, information about an entrance or help finding the appropriate member of the organising team. Supporting security personnel should provide consistent, courteous information while remaining attentive to their assigned duties. A calm interaction can help someone resolve a simple problem without unnecessary frustration.

The setting around an event deserves consideration too. Nearby routes, businesses and other public spaces may remain active throughout the programme. The security plan should be clear about the boundaries of the assignment and how concerns outside those boundaries are reported. Supporting a busy event does not mean assuming authority over every surrounding area.

Looking after the working relationship

At the end of an assignment, useful feedback can identify what helped the teams work together and what should be clarified next time. Share outstanding matters through the agreed route and ensure the lead provider has the information needed to complete its own review.

We appreciate the opportunity to have supported Discreet Security at Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival. Providers looking for additional people or specialist capability can contact Norvic with an outline of their operation. We can then discuss the role, preparation and communication needed for appropriate support.

Clear expectations make the relationship easier to manage from briefing through handover.
